About Us
Rimmington Building Design & Consultancy’s approach to each project is unique, being developed from extensive industry experience. Our team will guide you and your design ideas to realise your objectives whilst giving you peace of mind by taking care of all the hard work that is needed. With our combined craftsmanship and technical know-how, we are confident in delivering exceptional design ideas and solutions.
We are a CIAT registered practice and, as professionals, we have Chartered Architectural Technologist (MCIAT) status and Fellow Membership of the Higher Education Academy (FHEA).
We work to establish client value, using flexible, malleable, responsive, and motivated working methods. All of our projects rest with our Director, Aimie, who directly gets to know the clients and their projects. There is always one point of contact for our clients to streamline the communication process. We don’t subcontract our design work out, so projects are worked on by in-house qualified architectural and construction people, who understand your needs.
Most of our projects are acquired from relatable recommendations through ongoing work experience and an excellent reputation. Being a traditional company, we believe in soft communication and referrals.
With years of experience working on a wide variety of residential and commercial projects, some of the services we offer include Planning Applications, Permitted and Lawful Development, Building Regulations, and Interior Architecture, including heritage, sustainable and Passive House projects.

Latest Project: Large Annexe
Here we have a large annexe (or self-contained 1-bed home) in Newark on Trent which replaces a poorly built extension.
Due to a Grade ll listed building being next door, a Heritage Impact Assessment was required, and the design of the annexe had to be carefully considered. The materials had to match the existing dwelling and the annexe had to be set back from the front of the existing dwelling
Latest Project: Kitchen Renovation
Here we have a kitchen renovation to a detached home in Berkhamsted along with a new rear single-storey extension.
The construction of the new extension includes a beam and block floor with traditional brick and block cavity walls, bifold doors, bifold windows and rooflights. The kitchen flows into the new extension to form a large kitchen-diner overlooking the rear garden.
